GRAHAM Suddenly, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Richmond House, Crieff, Helen (Bet) Elizabeth (nee Haggart), dearly loved wife of Dr Len Graham and adored mum of John, Deirdre, Bruce and Mhairi, wonderful granny to her nine grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Service to be held at Monzie Kirk on Friday, September 29, at 11 a.m., to which all family and friends are invited. Private family burial at Monzievaird Churchyard. No flowers, please. Donations may be given to Richmond House.

With fond memories of Bet, John's mother, Granny to our children Alex and Thea and my mother in law. Like all 90 year olds Bet was a resilient woman who put family above all else, though gardening and golf were never far behind! She spanned the generations and handed out care, good sense and laughter to one and all. She showed strength in adversity coping, through great family support with some inevitable ill health latterly, showing good humour and courage.
Like many of her generation she learnt to accept the vicissitudes of change, including accepting the new 21 st century blended family. She moved with the times - initially in her youth running the bath for her brothers, later running her own fruit growing business with her patiently able husband Len as her assistant!
Coming up from Glasgow at weekends as hungry students I will always remember an absent mother in law (on the golf course!) but delicious chilli con carne in a pot on the stove and homemade raspberry trifle fit for a queen!
She was an excellent example for all the younger mums in our family and we remember her fondly.
Condolences to Len whose care was heroic.
