GOVE (Gourdon). Valerie and John's entire family have been overwhelmed by the very many expressions and acts of kindness, support, cards, flowers, letters and visits received from friends, neighbours and colleagues following the sad sudden death of John; particular mention is made of Billy and Arthur, his faithful walking companions of many years; grateful thanks go to to Isobel Luke for her wonderful music, to Montrose Choral Society for their moving tribute to John, to the Rev. Linda Broadley, the Rev. Peter Mead and to Harold Jack for their uplifting words and service both in church and at John's interment at Bervie Cemetery, to James Collier and his colleagues for their kind, thoughtful and efficient handling of John's funeral, to the doctors at Bervie Medical Centre for their attention to John's needs, you have been a great comfort and source of strength to us all, and will continue to be in the days ahead; we thank you from the bottom of our hearts; the measure of respect in which John was held was reflected in the generous gifts in his memory, as a result of which we are able to donate the sum of £1290 to St Mary's & St Peter's Church, Montrose, and the Gourdon Mission.
