Police), dearly beloved husband of Ann (nee Christison), much loved dad of Vonda, Gillian and Gaynor, dear father-in-law of Eddie, Bobby and Billy, a loving and devoted grandad, great-grandad and a dear brother. Funeral service at Dundee Crematorium, on Wednesday, March 27, at 2.30 p.m., to which all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, please. Andy Robertson was my sergeant during my final tour in the two years up to October 1987 at HQ P&SS (Scotland) based at RAF Turnhouse. Andy was an outstanding investigator whom I much admired for his astuteness, determination and professionalism.
Together from scratch we formed and led a small team of investigators, an undercover RAF police team and search dogs and handlers in the full time role of countering the growing menace of drug abuse in the RAF. Covering all of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England was no small task but Andy with his positive attitude threw himself into the new role with great aplomb and much success.
SNCO's like Andy Robertson represented the very backbone of the Royal Air Force and I am proud to have served with a man who was among the very best that the RAF Police had to offer.
I am only sorry that Andy's passing has come to my attention so very late in the day.
I pass on my much belated respects to Andy's family and friends.
