McARTHUR Peacefully, at Ninewells Hospital, Mrs Mc Arthur, Helen (Dundee), after a long and hard battle, morning of November 4, 2013, at the ripe old age of 98, Helen, widowed through war, was very much her own person, raised two sons, Murray and Alan, working as business bookkeeper and later in restaurant management. She was grandmother to Pauline, who passed from us in the prime of her life, Craig and Angela and seven great-grandchildren. Despite all, Helen's attitude was that life was for living and she loved it, she prided herself on being fit, trim and beautiful, she loved cruises, being well coiffed and wearing fashionable clothing, she loved to dance and play cards at the casino, until close to the end she looked 20 years younger and young at heart. Many thanks go out to all neighbours and medical staff and carers who supported Helen in the last sometimes difficult months of her life; a special thanks go to Ian Walton, Stewart Kelly, Betty Curran and Margaret Davidson, with special thanks to the staff of Ward 4 at Ninewells who allowed her to die peacefully and with dignity. As per her wishes no service will be upheld, with cremation having taken place yesterday. A gathering will be held at a later date to scatter her ashes.
