GORDON Suddenly, but peacefully, after a long illness, at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, Kenneth George (Ken) (formerly D.C. Thomson), dearly beloved husband of the late Betty, much loved dad of Clive and Claire, adored grandad of Christopher, Alexandra and Annabelle, also a dear father-in-law of Brian and Ursula. Funeral service, at Dundee Crematorium, on Thursday, March 7, at 12.30 p.m., to which all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu, if desired, may be given to Kingsway Care Centre at the Crematorium.

heartbroken as i write this message, i will miss my old drinking buddy Ken a great deal. he was like a big brother to me and we shared the same sense of humour. he was a great pal to me and the whole gordon family were long time friends of my own parents. i will be raising a pint or five followed by a dram tonight in memory of ken. i know his final years was not easy for him or his family but i take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with his beloved late wife betty. till we meet again at that great bar in the sky ken i will say tarra for now catch ya later.

Dear Ken--
We had some great times in days gone by in the forties and fifties, you and I--serving in the lunchroom at the Harris, hanging out in the prefects' room, going in the Perth Road after lunch to visit with your dad at the newsagent and tobacconist shop he had, listening to the latest 78s in your folks' place above the shop before going in to dance at Kidd's and the Palais. What memories, Ken!
I'm glad we got to visit together last year. Unfortunately I can't make it over in person from California to bid you goodbye at the Crematorium, but I'll be there in spirit. Farewell, old pal--for auld lang syne.
