BUGGINS Suddenly, whilst on duty, on September 3, 2019, Roy, serving Police Officer with Police Scotland, loving husband of Faye, devoted son of Ruth and the late Derick, beloved father of Ewan and Sophie, son-in-law to Jean and Earl and brother-in-law to Colin, Claire and the late Lorna. A special friend to many who will be sadly missed. A celebration of Roy`s life will take place at Parkgrove Crematorium, Friockheim, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 2.30 p.m., to which all family, friends and colleagues are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, please, but donations in lieu will be gratefully accepted at the Crematorium for local charities.

Mike and I were so very sad to hear about Roy. It doesn't seem like yesterday that we were school captains for Arbroath High badminton team and travelling all over Scotland having a lot of laughs. We also played in a squash league at the Olympia every week. More recently we worked together in the TISS team and there was never a dull moment. He didn't suffer fools gladly but he had a positive effect on the people we worked with. He was a very popular, no nonsense practical lad who was a kind and caring friend. He loved his family and always talked about them. Roy enjoyed his golf and his the tales about his skiing holidays always made me laugh. Roy was a good friend and will always be special to us. Mike and I are currently in the south of France and will not be able to come to the funeral. Our thoughts are with Faye, Ruth, Ewan and Sophie. Love from Lesley and Mike Smart and family x
