Very sad news I heard today

Allan Ewart

16 October 2019
We've all lost a very dear friend. John Milne was an exceptionally good man, very kind and always helpful. He had a strong spirit within him and he defied the doctors when they gave him only a few years to live. John lived on for almost another three decades which is testament to the human spirit he had within him. He had the most extraordinary ability to bounce back after every setback. He was always smiling (most of the time) and hardly ever complained. He was like an uncle or even a father to me. I lost my Dad 20 years ago, and I knew John for the last 11 years. He helped me and my family out of incredibly difficult situations. And for that, I will always be grateful to him, and especially for teaching me how to be a better person than I was before I met him. I was also honoured to have compiled his family history. He came round religiously every week for about two years and we would research it all. John was very thorough and made sure everything was in order before moving on. I will miss him terribly as will my wife Iryna and our two boys Vincent and Ramsay. We've all shed many tears today for the loss of a very dear friend whom we considered part of our family. He will be sadly, sadly missed by us. I will always aspire to be as good a man as the late great John D. Milne of Brechin.
