MITCHELL At Perth Royal Infirmary, on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, John (former council officer and confectioner), beloved husband of Kathleen and the late Annie, much loved dad of Lynne, Craig and Grant, dearly loved step-dad of Pauline and Wendy, a much loved grandad of Suzanne, Yvonne, Alan, Katie and Callum, a devoted great-grandad of Miela, Frazer and Lisa, a dear father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law and uncle and a good friend to many. Funeral on Friday, October 25, service in Perth Crematorium, at 3 p.m., to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, please, but if desired, a retiring collection will be taken at the Crematorium for Cornhill Macmillan Centre. No black ties, please.

Dear Kathleen, Peter and I were so sorry to learn of John’s death. Harry Robertson emailed us as we are on holiday. You and John must have already celebrated your Silver Wedding. We have such happy memories of knowing you both since 1982. Our time together during my term of office as Provost was memorable with John coping so admirably with having a woman to entrust with the chain of office. So sorry to miss John’s funeral when, I am sure many stories will be recounted of our times in Russia and in China. Condolences also to Lynn , Grant and Craig.
