LESLIE (Anstruther) Peacefully, at Ladywalk House Care Home, Anstruther, on Monday, November 16, 2020, Alastair Leslie, aged 98 years, St Adrians Place, Anstruther (formerly teacher at Waid Academy), dearly loved husband of the late Esther, very much loved and loving father of Vivien and Stephen, father-in-law of James and Moira and a proud and devoted grandpa and great-grandpa. Private family funeral at Anstruther Cemetery, on Tuesday, November 24, at 1.30 p.m. (due to COVID-19 restrictions). Friends may pay their respects and make a guard of honor on route and at the cemetery gates. Cortege leaving from St Adrians Place at 1.15 p.m. Donations in Alastair's memory may be made to St Ayles, Anstruther Church.

Sad news for all who were lucky enough to have Mr Leslie as their teacher. His enthusiasm for his subject and amazing ability to remember pupils from decades before made him one of the truly great educators. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
