MONAGHAN Suddenly, but peacefully, at home, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, James (Jim), aged 93, dearly beloved husband of the late Nessie, much loved dad of Anne, devoted grandad of Reagan, Kieran and Kyle, loved great-grandad of Connor and Phoebe and a loving brother, uncle and friend to many. Funeral service in the funeral home of James Ashton & Edward McHugh, 188 High Street, Lochee, on Friday, July 1, at 1.30 p.m., to which all family and friends are respectfully invited, interment thereafter in Barnhill Cemetery, arriving main gate at 2.30 p.m. Family flowers only, please, but donations in lieu, if desired, may be made at the funeral home, in aid of Cancer Research U.K.

A heart made of pure gold stopped beating last week. Devastated to have lost you but honoured and privileged to have had you as my Grandad and best pal for 46 years. You always had my back in every way imaginable. You’ve left a massive hole but I will fill it full of treasured memories. Only great dads earn the honour of promotion to Grandad and I was lucky to have one of the very best.
