o Airth gaithers ye, sowthers ye
tae lousomeness, thrummles ilk grain
o blinterin quartz, o feldspar's milky
white tae warsle wi the sperks o
mica nirls, or dawds o semple
faughie muscovite. Yon feckfu
stane, Element snecks element
tae wheeple Geiger's sang o pouer;
sturken, muckle-boukit. See,
sic majesty. An yet, ae day,
as aa ferlies, ye faa tae stour.
