DUTHIE It is with profound sadness, we announce the death of Alexander Bruce Duthie, known to all as Sandy, who passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Ninewells Hospital, devoted husband, proud dad and delighted grandad, his was a true life well lived. Sandy followed his passion for flying for 47 years as an officer in the RAF, flying instructor and airline captain. In retirement he continued his love for piping, fishing, hillwalking, skiing and his veg patch. He served as Church of Scotland elder for Cargill Burrelton Parish and was a proud member of the Coupar Angus Pipe Band. A celebration of Sandy's life will take place at 12.30 p.m., on Thursday, August 17, at Cargill Burrelton Parish Church and thereafter at the Red House Hotel, Coupar Angus. Family flowers only, please. If desired, there will be opportunity to donate to Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (S.C.A.A.) at the church.

Dear Glennis and family,
So sad to only recently read about Sandy's passing.
Reading his obitiuary, he achieved a lot during his life, much of which I didn't know about. But I do know that when he was CFI he played a vital part in making AST such a respected institution in its heyday.
