PALMER Peacefully, at Beech Manor Care Home, Blairgowrie, on Monday, November 20, 2023, Charles (Classic Restora- tion Ltd.), Alyth, beloved husband of the late Carol and the late Victoria, much loved dad, grandad, great-grandad, brother and good friend to many. Funeral service in Alyth Parish Church, on Monday, December 4, at 1 p.m., interment thereafter in Alyth Cemetery, to which all friends and family are invited. Family flowers only, please, but donations to Beech Manor Comfort Fund may be given at the church.

As a former Alyth High School pupil and Alyth resident I have very fond memories of Charles, firstly as a teacher and then as a local businessman.
I have a distinct memory of Mr. Palmer helping me make a fire poker in second year metal-working class. I was hopeless at the subject but he was patient and kind. I was proud of the end product and gave it to my mum and dad for Christmas.
I also remember when Charlie set up his business up in the old carpet factory by the pack bridge. My friend worked there for a while and gave me a peek behind the scenes. The work that was done there was impressive and put the wee town of Alyth on the map.
My condolences to the family.
