ROSS Peacefully, at Ninewells Hospital, on Friday, Jan-uary 5, 2024, Mary, beloved wife of Nelson for 52 years, much loved sister of Helen and the late Ann, loving aunt and beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Mary McGonagall. Former tea- cher at St Vincent's School, Dundee, Kirkriggs School, Forfar and proprietor of the Osnaburg Bar, Forfar. R.I.P. Many thanks to myCare and Ward 3 for the compassion and care given to Mary during her stay. Reception of remains at St Andrews Cathedral, Nethergate, Dundee, on Thursday, January 25, at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass, Friday, January 26, at 10 a.m., to which all friends and family are respectfully invited. Interment thereafter at Birkhill Cemetery, arriving approximately 11.15 a.m. Donations can be made at the service, in aid of Ward 3, Ninewells Hospital.

Sad to hear sad passing of Mary. She taught me at St. Vincent's and I always had fond memories of her.
I was delighted when I walked into the Osnaburg in Forfar years later and saw her serving behind the bar. I saw her frequently after this.
My thoughts are with her family.
