WATSON (Joseph C.C.) Mirren, Murdo, Fraser and Family, Anne, Sandy and their families have been overwhelmed by the response to the passing of our dearly loved son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin and wish to thank everyone from far and near who attended the service of thanksgiving; it has brought great comfort to read the beautifully worded letters from friends and colleagues conveying so much information on Joseph's life and work, the numerous cards with heartfelt messages, the tributes and the personal messages in editions of the Press & Journal and the Farming Journal and in other Scottish newspapers and magazines associated with the farming industry, the communications from the various agricultural organisations with which he was associated or connected, the e-mails from the members of The British Guild and The International Federation of Agri Journalists throughout the world and the messages on social media; we thank, for their kindness and thoughtfulness, those who came to visit, made telephone calls, brought or sent flowers, did baking and home cooking - all greatly appreciated; special thanks to Mr E. Gillanders for his eloquent eulogy, to the Rev. Kevin Gruer for his comforting visits and the uplifting and meaningful service in church and at the graveside, to his elders who helped at the service, to Dr. K. Duthie for her care and support in the last 14 days, Messrs George Clark & Son for their professional and efficient funeral arrangements, to Mr and Mrs B. Brown and staff at Buckleys for the lovely teas, finally thanks to all for the generous donations of £3,300 for Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution and The Sandpiper Trust.
